Ryan and Simone officially met in 2017 while working at the same company, where a genuine friendship formed naturally. What neither of them fully realized then was that life had been quietly trying to bring them together long before that moment.

As children growing up in Jamaica, Simone would often visit Ryan’s aunt’s home for Sunday dinners with her mother, who was friends with Ryan’s aunt. Around the same time, Ryan was there too visiting family. Looking back, they laugh at the idea that they probably should have met when they were five years old but both agree the relationship may not have worked out very well back then!

Their paths almost crossed again in high school. Ryan attended Calabar High School while Simone attended Westwood High School, brother and sister schools known for their longstanding connection and traditions. Somehow, the occasional school visits and events where they likely would have met never happened.

Once again, the timing simply was not yet right.

After officially meeting years later in New York City, they stayed in touch and maintained their friendship over the years. In 2020, their connection began to deepen, and by 2021, they cautiously began exploring the possibility of something more. At the time, distance and logistics made them both believe the relationship probably would not work but some connections have a way of proving themselves stronger than circumstance. What started as a friendship evolved into a partnership grounded in trust, laughter, patience, and intentional love.

In 2022, they officially began dating, and in 2025, Ryan proposed, marking the beginning of the next chapter in a story that somehow always seemed to be finding its way back to each other.

Their journey is a reminder that sometimes love is not about perfect timing at the start. Sometimes it is about two people crossing paths again and again until the timing finally becomes right.
